Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (5)
  1. $18,385 spent. The Healthy Human Race (HHR) is our largest race event (~400 runners) of the year and the club's main source of income. The HHR consists of a Half Marathon, a Half Marathon Relay, and a 5k race. The event includes three $500 charitable donations. In 2025: NAMI; Ronald McDonald House; Rochester Women's Shelter were the recipients of the donations. The club received $4K in sponsorship from Scheels of Rochester for this event and $500 in sponsorship from ActivePT. Included the HHR contractor race director payment as part of the expense to put on this race.
  2. $8,837 spent. Saturday Morning Training Runs offer supported group runs throughout the year to help runners prepare for distance competitions in the Spring and in the Fall. In 2025, RRC paid MN Treads, a local Rochester running shoe store, to perform SMTR Captain duties (formerly performed by volunteers). SMTR serves approximately 60 to 100 runners on these Saturday runs.
  3. $5,618 spent. RRC assisted the Lance Pfrimmer Memorial 8k Race Committee in putting on the 2nd Annual Lance Pfrimmer Memorial 8k Race. The amount RRC took in and passed along to the Lance Pfrimmer Scholarship Fund for High School Track Athletes administered by the Rochester Area Foundation was nearly $9,000 ($8,998). Approximately 400 runners and walkers participated in the event.
  4. $8,965 spent. All-Comers Track Meets were held most Tuesday evenings in June and July for kids ages 2 to 15+ at the Soldier Field Track in Rochester MN. All kids are welcome to participate in the various distance track races (50yds, 100yds, 220yds, 440yds, and 1 mile) and long jump activities. The All-Comers meets have been put on by volunteers of the club for 54 years. Ribbons are handed out to all participants and special ribbons for kids placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in their age group for the event. This year, the club had a significant expense ($8,965) in the purchase of new ribbons which are planned to satisfy the need for about 6 years. The All-Comers meets are very much appreciated by the City of Rochester and kids from several neighboring towns also participate.
  5. $75 spent. Held two Capture the Segment Challenges on Strava for all members of the Rochester Running Club, one in July and another in October. People were assigned to teams with the intent of getting to know other runners that you may not otherwise ever get to know. Teams competed in a friendly competition to get more points than other teams. Feedback from the challenge was very positive and members were engaged in the event. Money raised ($321) for the July challenge went to Jeremiah Project charity; money raised ($228) for the October challenge went to Brighter Tomorrow's charity.
