However, the organization intends to hire its own employees in the future, and such employees' compensation will be paid with sponsor dues. Approximately 10% of the organization's expenses will be allocated to this activity. f. This activity furthers the exempt purpose of the organization because the success of the trade association hinges in large part on the number of sponsors that join and fund the organization. Approximately 5% of the organization's expenses will be allocated to this activity. f. This activity furthers the exempt purpose of the organization by promoting both the affordable housing industry in Texas and the importance of the organization's efforts in supporting it. In particular, this activity works to ensure the ongoing engagement of sponsors by keeping the sponsors apprised of the organization's ongoing activities.
- Collaboration with legal counsel: a. The organization collaborates with legal counsel to (i) implement defenses to AMENDMENTS TO existing legislation in Texas that adversely affects the organization and its prospective sponsors and (ii) strategize regarding legal challenges to legislation AND THE AFFORDABLE HOUSING INDUSTRY in Texas affecting the affordable housing industry.
