Programs described in its return (2)
- $1.2 million spent. Project UpLift, our free after school literacy program, began at Pine Grove in the fall of the 2017-18 school year as a 3rd grade after school program to help 30 struggling readers who were one or two grades below grade level. It began with 30 3rd grade students in that one school. By the 2025-26 school year, we were working with over 1,500 students in 20 title 1 public elementary schools
- $265,252 spent. The Above and Beyond Teacher and Staff Recognition program began in 2016 as a fun, celebratory way to honor the hard work of public school teachers who often go unrecognized. The awardees are chosen by their peers. Members of the Board of Roots and Wings, along with donors, Community leaders and interested members of our Community attend these award presentations. We have honored over 1,500 teachers and staff since its inception.
