Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $24,395 spent. Education and Outreach: Since 2015 MOFFA has conducted its annual in-depth education event, the Organic Intensives. In the year 2025 the topics for this event were "Farming In a Changing Climate", "Korean Natural Farming: Cultivating Indigenous Soil Life", and "Innovative Marketing: Farmer Wisdom on Where and How to Sell Your Farm Goods". We also sell books at this event as well as at Farm Tours we host throughout the summer and fall. In 2025 we hosted three Farm Tours around the state. We continue to partner with other organizations that are working to create a just and healthy planet and populace. We produce a quarterly newsletter which reaches over 2,000 individuals who have expressed interest in receiving it, and we maintain a website which provides information about organic and sustainable farming and educational, employment, and funding opportunities in the organic sector.
  2. $927 spent. Membership - MOFFA's membership in 2025 was 92, 81% of the prior year's membership. This was a disappointing drop in membership and will need to be addressed in the following years. Memberships help to build community as well as provide funding to pursue our educational programs.
  3. $382 spent. Policy - MOFFA endeavors to keep its members abreast of new and proposed legislation and regulation which affects the practice of sustainable agriculture and the availability of organic and sustainably grown food. The organization also collaborates with other like-minded organizations on issues of interest to our members.
