Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $104,555 spent. External Funding: HWMCs main program is to fund projects that benefit the community. Requests are evaluated for how they will fulfill this mission. There is no direct cost for this evaluation as all activities are performed by volunteer members but this is our primary objective during membership meetings and throughout the various fundraising activities. Over the past fiscal year we approved 21 projects for a total of $104,400. We gave $65k to assist in the renovation of the field next to Burton Elementary School in HW, $13,150 for various annual city rec. activities, $15,650 for various school activities in the Berkley Public School District, $7,500 for the HW Library for new bookcases and benches, and other amts for local projects.
  2. $17,450 spent. Internal Membership Activities: This program represents membership dues and assessments related to membership activities. As of the end of the fiscal year we had 155 active volunteer members. On average our monthly meetings host 50 members in which we discuss HWMC business and evaluate and vote on funding requests.
