CORE IMPACTS FOR THE YEAR 2025 Index of Major Program Accomplishments Overview While we secure capital to construct our 7,500 sq. ft. biomedical and engineering development facility, we have focused on translational science and engineering: publishing, building working biomedical tools, and developing human-relevant research systems using microcontrollers, 3D modeling, and AI technologies. Our organization designs and builds human-centered biomedical tools that replace fragile, high-cost laboratory systems and reduce reliance on animal models. We emphasize practical innovation - technologies that can be manufactured, repaired, and adapted locally using microcontrollers, 3D-printed components, laser-cut materials, and simulation-driven design. This allows us to build affordable, reproducible tools aligned with real-world patient care - not just theoretical laboratory success. A. Major Cancer Publication - Advancing Understanding in RAS-Driven Disease In collaboration with researchers from the University of Texas-El Paso and New Mexico State University, our team published a 39-page biomedical journal article in Biology (2025, Vol. 14, Issue 8, Article 936): "Research Challenges in Stage III and IV RAS-Associated Cancers: A Narrative Review of the Complexities and Functions of the Family of RAS Genes and Ras Proteins in Housekeeping and Tumorigenesis." The core message is simple and sobering: after more than 50 years of global research into RAS-driven cancers, late-stage patients still lack reliable therapeutic options. This paper identifies the major biological and translational barriers preventing progress and calls for practical, implementation-focused innovation rather than incremental repetition of prior work. Autodesk Inventor Pro was used to support scientific visualization and pathway modeling. B. Human Adaptive Response Emulator (HARE) We began developing the Human Adaptive Response Emulator (HARE) - a human-relevant biology platform designed to generate decision-quality data before medical technologies reach clinical trials. Many products perform well in animal models but fail in humans because: * animal disease models do not faithfully replicate human disease * toxicity responses differ across species * animal immune systems provide misleading safety signals HARE addresses these failure points directly by operating in human-derived cells and human-relevant signaling environments, thereby evaluating disease behavior, toxicity, and immune response in systems that reflect real human biology. This work advances our mission to develop ethical, efficient, and patient-centered biomedical tools and to help reduce clinical trial failures driven by animal-based inference. C. Autonomous UV-C Floor Decontamination System (AUF-DS) We are developing an autonomous UV-C floor-decontamination robot for healthcare, laboratory, and community environments where biological contamination risk is high but staffing and resources are limited. Traditional cleaning depends on labor-intensive processes, chemical disinfectants, and inconsistent coverage. Our goal is to design a cost-efficient, microcontroller-based platform that autonomously navigates indoor spaces and delivers controlled UV-C exposure to floor surfaces - reducing microbial burden without chemical residue. The system is being designed using open-architecture principles, so nonprofit hospitals, public laboratories, and educational institutions can reproduce or adapt the technology without proprietary lock-in or high licensing costs. During this reporting period, we focused on concept design, navigation strategy, safety shielding, and controlled UV-C exposure management. Future phases will include validation testing and publication of implementation guidance to support adoption in resource-limited environments. D. Plexiglass Isotope Column Holders We designed and fabricated precision plexiglass isotope-column holders to improve the stability and reproducibility of column-based separation systems used in biomedical workflows such as protein purification, metabolite isolation, and biomarker preparation. By improving column alignment and reducing vibration, these holders support more stable separations and reproducible analytical results. E. Triton XT 3D-Printed Filament Holders We engineered and produced 3D-printed filament holders for the Triton XT instrument to ensure stable handling of temperature-sensitive and specialty materials used in biomedical and analytical workflows. This supports the future fabrication of biosensors, scaffold materials, and microfluidic research tools, while reducing waste and maintaining print integrity. F. Microcontroller-Based Water Bath Temperature System We designed a microcontroller-driven water-bath temperature monitoring and control system to replace a failed probe in a Chemical Engineering cell-culture laboratory - restoring functionality at a fraction of commercial replacement costs. G. Microcontroller-Based Vibration Analysis Device We developed a portable vibration-analysis system to compare pump performance for small analytical devices in a Biochemistry lab - supporting more reliable sample handling and equipment optimization. H. NOVA STORM Field Safety Device The NOVA STORM Field Safety Device is a fully functional prototype designed to perform rapid, affordable chemical analysis in hazardous civilian and military environments. We are seeking one-time support solely for patent protection - attorney and filing costs only - with no funds retained by the Institute. Once protected, the device can advance responsibly in partnership with organizations such as NASA, NATO, and the Department of Defense, moving toward deployment for frontline and humanitarian applications. I. SpectraSense DNA SpectraSense DNA is a system under development to visualize DNA without carcinogenic or mutagenic dyes traditionally required in gel analysis. Blueprints were finalized in 2025. Prototype construction begins in 2026, follow
