Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $4,547 spent. The organization owns and maintains a public park of 44.88 acres for the benefit of the residents of the City of Highland and Madison County. Board members and members of the organization maintain and mow the park. The expenses shown are for the maintenance of the park, which includes a public swimming pool that is leased by the City of Highland for $1 per year, and operated by the City. There are 3 pavilions on the premises, one large one and two smaller ones that are available to the public at a nominal fee. The organization has a close relationship with the Madison County Fairgrounds Association. The county fair is held in the park. The Fairgrounds Association has built structures in the park that are used for the annual county fair. The organization also has a dance hall that is provided to civic organizations or individuals for a rental fee. The food, bar,and rental receipts and dance admissions associated with the dance hall are included on Form 990-T as unrelated business income tax; however, board members and members of the organization volunteer their help in addition to the employees. All of the activities of the dance hall provide wholesome activities for the community at a reasonable price.
