What it says it does

Lander Girls Softball League is a non-profit in every sense of the word. All the fundraising we collect goes straight back to our players, which is exactly where our funds should go as a youth recreational league. As a result of our dedicated board, coaches, and parents who volunteer, we are able to keep registration fees low and keep the girls playing without putting a financial burden on their families. Thankfully, we have coaches who are willing to donate their time and knowledge and spend countless hours at practices and games passing their love of the game on to our players. Our continued success comes as a result of devoted volunteers who love and support the game of softball.

Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $56,919 spent. We believe the focus of youth sports should be on the player and the sport, not the cost. We take a lot of pride in the fact that we can offer a sport to the girls of our community that ALL can afford to play, no matter their financial situation. We do not want to see our families plagued with debt just so their children can play a sport. The lessons of hard work, determination and teamwork learned on the field are lessons that our players will keep with them as they navigate life. The talent is here in Lander and these girls deserve the opportunity to continue to play and reach their full potential on and off the field.
