Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $56,818 spent. During FY 2024-2025, the LC PTA accomplished many projects that satisfied our mission. First, we provide every FTE staff and teacher a $350 stipend to spend on classroom supplies. For the year, $12,106 of funds were disbursed for those classroom supplies. In the fall of 2024, we allocated $3,081 of funds to various grant proposals submitted by teachers. Those grant requests included diagnostic math assessment programming, supplies for phonics programs, classroom library expansions, a geometric dome climber for use with our behavioral interventionists, and supplies for a collaborative weaving art project. In the spring, we distributed $4,658 in grant funds, including support for our rock climbing club, supplies for our family engagement event (BINGO for books), field trips that supported learning Montana History, and funds to support a program for an opportunity for movement, theater games, and breathing exercises for our early literacy class. We also spent $5,000 on technology improvements for the school. In addition to these grants and teacher stipends, we helped fund a program called Reading Opens Your World, which provides students an extra opportunity to read outside the classroom with a volunteer each week, different books than they are reading in the classroom. We also have an All Nations Lunch Club, where we provide money for our indigenous students to gather for a community lunch. Each year, the Missoula Children's Theater comes with their "Little Red Truck" program, where instructors spend time in each classroom teaching about community theater, as well as put on an after school performance where approximately 40 students participate. This year's play was the Pied Piper. Our PTA provides funds for that program to be able to expand their reach and get into each classroom.
