- The Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine promoted the professional development, education, leadership, and welfare of veterinary students. SAVMA provided financial and administrative support to affiliated veterinary specialty clubs and student organizations. Programs included educational symposiums, wet laboratories, guest speakers, student travel, professional networking opportunities, community outreach activities, and leadership development programs. Funding received from the American Veterinary Medical Association and other supporters was used to enhance educational opportunities and student engagement within the veterinary profession.
