What it says it does

JPYC organized and executed monthly social events for members to promote community, including holiday events and the Annual Member Meeting/Awards Dinner. This year we strongly promoted our Women-on-the Water Community Sail Night with outreach to members of the local community. This was an opportunity to expose more women to sailing.

Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $12,287 spent. Education - JPYC organizes volunteers to teach boating or sailing related topics to our membership to develop their seamanship skills. These classes vary from year to year depending upon the level of volunteer participation. We continued our Adult sailing program, Women-only lessons, youthsailing, and kayak programs. Women on the Water lauched to encourage and educate women boaters in a comfortable space. We offered the two part Safety at Sea course (classroom and on the water), which was attended by sailors city-wide. We also collaborated with the US Coast Guard Ausillary to offer Boater Safety to all boaters in the harbor andcommunity, including sailing, power, and non-powered vessels.
  2. $52,320 spent. Events - JPYC organized and executed monthly social events for members to promote community, including holiday events and the Annual Member Meeting/Awards Dinner. This year we strongly promoted our Women-on-the Water Community Sail Night with outreach to members of the local community. This was an opportunity to expose more women to sailing.
  3. $4,109 spent. Racing - Crewing as a part of a race team accelerates learning the skills needed to sail a sailboat. Racing itself inspires many to participate in the sport that otherwise would not. JPYC organizes and promotes sail racing and enables registration for all Club members and community members to participate. We provide the committee boats and the volunteer staff to conduct the races. Participation ranged from 6 boats to 30 depending upon the race. We hoste weekly Wednesday Night Club Racing and participated in 8 non-JPYC races including the Raske Memorial Cup, Race to Mackinac and MORF Commodore Cup.
