Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (5)
  1. $15,950 spent. We purchased and rehabbed two houses on our street. One is used for a women's shelter and the other as our general ministry house. SALT Ministries also paid for the children of Avondale to swim free in the neighborhood pool (normal admission is $1 per day per child), and we operate a blessing box at the end of the street. Additional activities include mentoring of children and adults, making jail visits and providing temporary housing when needed.
  2. Providing housing for women coming out of violent relationships, mentoring of youth and adults, and making jail visits when applicable
  3. $4,000 spent. Paying for children and adults in the neighborhood to swim free at the local city pool. There is normally a daily charge for people to use the pool.
  4. $15,913 spent. Supporting a local church by tithes and donations
  5. Provided support to individual neighbors through bus passes, jail ministry, transportation, and neighborhood events.
