Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $210,987 spent. The Indiana Land Protection Alliance (ILPA) is a vibrant, nonpartisan network of land trusts, conservation partners, and community members. We champion the protection of Indianas land and water by uniting, empowering, and elevating the states land conservation community. In 2024, ILPA completed a year-long strategic planning process and delivered a full slate of in-person and online programming. We hosted our inaugural Winter Conference and Reception, a three-day stewardship gathering, a chainsaw safety training, an outreach and fundraising conference, and multiple online peer groups sessions. To support and elevate the work of our members, we connected professional photographers with land trusts and provided stipends for high-quality images from across the state. We offered professional development stipends to help land trust staff strengthen their skills and training, and we partnered with the Indiana Academy of Science to award small bioinventory grants to nonprofit conservation organizations and agencies. We co-hosted the 3rd Annual October Big Day with Indiana Audubon, engaged the Conservation Law Center for legal research, and created opportunities for land trusts to connect with elected officials and advocate for Indianas natural places.Throughout the year, we also prioritized building new partnerships and collaborations to advance our mission and expand the reach and impact of land conservation in Indiana.
