Programs described in its return (5)
- Community Greenhouse is the organic growing of vegetables to subside the daily food source in the local village. We have committee of local people that provide daily management, distribution and maintenance of the greenhouse and garden. The project consists of two major plantings to cover the full year of food provision to the poor and orphaned children. Approximately 2,400 seedling are planted both in the greenhouse and garden twice a year. The yield is thousands of vegetables for a community with 500 hundred households and thousands adults/children.
- $4,826 spent. Tent Crusade cost to establish meeting place outside with public PA system. Rental of three large tents and 1500 chairs, security guards to control crowds, charter buses for transport of women and children, 300 loaves of bread distributed to homes that we visit to pray and invite during day. Nightly meetings with thousands of people in attendance each night. Provide snacks for the children tent each night of approx. 400 kids for the five nights.
- $5,999 spent. Water Well maintenance includes plumbing and electric cost to pump water into storage tanks for the community. The wells are 5-10 km from each other in different villages . Two wells serve thousands of people. Heavy Storms each Fall cause damage to the pumps that require repairs from the lighting strikes. Each year there is not consistent power source so that causes the system to work harder each time power is turned on and off. We also did annual maintenance on the structure s located at the project site. This year we retrofit a shipping container to make an office for caretaker and leaders to manage the different projects. We replaced windows, added electricity, painted inside and installed flooring into the shipping container.
- $18,049 spent. Outreach to local schools and community. We visit the thirteen schools that have received a library donation. We do an assembly to the whole school encouraging students to respect teachers and to stay in school to get an education to eliminate poverty. The average size of each school is between 900 -1200 students. We also provide new bibles to one new school each year that will receive a library donation. Along with Food parcels to 500 families
- $3,670 spent. Pastoral training of local pastors of different denominations and faith. We provide books, bibles, and seminars taught by American leaders from the mission team. We teach spiritual growth for church leaders and how to grow your churches influence in the community. The pastors that attend average size church of 50 people would equal approximately 500 people benefiting from this service to local churches in the Transkei. Youth bible mentor program, overseen by local pastors called "12 X 12" the young adults are mentoring young teenagers with weekly bible study(30 attend monthly)
