Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $5,825 spent. RiverStars & Planet Dance provide art dance movement and theater intergenerational and youth classes in Josephine County Oregon free of charge to remove barriers to the high population of low income families in our region. These classes take place September through April on Fridays filling the empty space created when our local school district cut the 5th day from the school week. From April though September we provide educational programming for youth at Cultivate Kids a program that we operate at the local farmers market. These programs teach skills provide meaningful educational activities and programming and help our youth connect to the place they are living.
  2. The Clean Sweep is a program to clean up trash in local public lands and teach intergenerational skills for caretaking and land stewardship to our community. We host a monthly clean up day and invite volunteers to hike in beautiful places while we clean up trash that has been dumped illegally and return our public lands to useful spaces for our local population and tourists to enjoy. We also work on educational information and campaigns to help prevent future dumping and encourage a culture of care in the Illinois Valley of Josephine County. 50 plus local volunteers join in each clean ups and we feed them lunch. We provide free trash vouchers to the local family coalition to encourage people to dump their trash in appropriate designated facilities. Note: This program along with our youth programs was fiscally sponsored by a different organization for part of 2025 and the revenue and expenses that all of our programs operate on will be higher in 2026 as many expenses that we will pay in 2026 were paid by another organization in 2025 while we went through the process of applying for 501c3 status and setting up our non profit.
