- $121,064 spent. In 2025, the Northwest Native Asset Building Coalition successfully completed the Washington State Department of Commerce Community Reinvestment Project (CRP) grant in July. This initiative represented a significant investment in expanding financial literacy and economic empowerment within Native communities across the region. As part of this effort, the organization delivered a comprehensive financial literacy program that included both direct community education and capacity-building strategies. A key achievement was the completion of a "train-the-trainer" course, which equipped leadership and practitioners within the Native social work community-primarily in King and Pierce Counties-with the tools and knowledge to deliver culturally relevant financial education within their own programs and networks. In addition, the Coalition developed and facilitated a series of independent online trainings designed to increase access to financial literacy resources for Native community members. These trainings provided flexible, accessible learning opportunities and covered core topics such as budgeting, credit, debt management, and pathways to long-term financial stability. Through these combined efforts, the Northwest Native Asset Building Coalition strengthened both individual financial capability and community-based capacity to deliver ongoing financial education, contributing to long-term economic resilience in the communities it serves.
