Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO HELP FUND QUADRIPLEGIC'S, WHO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS, PHYSICAL THERAPY EXPENSES WITH A GRANT. THESE GRANTS WILL BE GIVEN TO INDIVIDUALS WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE COST OF THERAPY, THEY HAVE EXHAUSTED THEIR INSURANCE'S PHYSICAL THERAPY VISITS AND GOVERNMENT GRANTS. AS A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION WE WILL BE HELPING INDIVIDUAL QUADRIPLEGICS REGAIN AS MUCH INDEPENDENCE AS POSSIBLE AS WELL AS LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE.
  2. IN ORDER TO RAISE FUNDS TO PROVIDE FOR THE QUADRIPLEGICS WHO MEET OUR QUALIFICATIONS, WE AS AN ORGANIZATION WILL HOST FUNDRAISERS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE GRANTS. OUR GOAL IS TO PROVIDE ONE GRANT EVERY THREE MONTHS OR EACH QUARTER OF THE YEAR. ONCE THE QUADRIPLEGIC THAT WE CHOOSE TO GIVE THE GRANT DECIDES WHERE THEY WANT TO RECEIVE PHYSICAL THERAPY, WE CONTACT THE THERAPY FACILITY AND GIVE THEM THE MONEY FOR THE QUADRIPLEGIC TO ATTEND. WE FOLLOW UP WITH THE GRANT RECIPIENT AS WELL AS THE THERAPY FACILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT THE RECIPIENT IS ATTENDING AND USING THE GRANT PROPERLY.
  3. THE PUBLIC BENEFIT OF OUR ORGANIZATION IS ADDRESSING A SIGNIFICANT HEALTHCARE NEED. EVERY YEAR IN THE UNITED STATES THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 18,000 NEW SPINAL CORD INJURIES. QUADRIPLEGIA IS ONE OF, IF NOT THE MOST COMMON NEUROLOGICAL CASE OF SPINAL CORD INJURIES. FIRST YEAR EXPENSES FOR QUADRIPLEGICS C1 THROUGH C8 CAN COST UP TO $2,000,000. PHYSICAL THERAPY CAN HELP IMPROVE STRENGTH, CARDIOVASCULAR FITNESS, JOINT MOBILITY, MUSCLE EXTENSIBILITY, PREVENT BONE WEAKNESS, PAIN MANAGEMENT, PREVENT SPASTICITY, AS WELL AS HELP PERFORM DAILY ACTIVITIES AND MORE. QUADRIPLEGICS WHO RECEIVE PHYSICAL THERAPY AFTER SUSTAINING THEIR INJURIES HAVE STATISTICALLY BEEN LIVING LONGER AS A RESULT OF ACHIEVING MORE FUNCTIONAL INDEPENDENCE AND IMPROVED PHYSICAL ABILITIES. NOT ONLY ARE WE HELPING QUADRIPLEGICS, WE ARE ALSO HELPING PARALYSIS CENTERS AND PHYSICAL THERAPY REHABILITATION CENTERS IN THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING THEM WITH MORE PATIENTS.
