Provide financial and practical support to people seeking an abortion who need financial assistance. This activity is conducted by the Fund and its volunteers for individuals traveling to, from, or within Utah using digital communication. The activity is typically conducted in Utah, as well as other states in the southwest. Roughly 70 percent of the Fund's total time is allocated to this activity, which is funded through gifts, grants and contributions from the public and constitutes approximately 80 percent of expenses (including an allocation for internal program administration). This activity furthers the Fund's exempt purpose by helping to make reproductive health care accessible to all people in need of that care, regardless of where each person lives in the state and their financial circumstances. From time to time and as further described in this Form 1023, the Fund intends to engage in advocacy on issues of social welfare. This activity will be conducted by the Fund and its volunteers, and may include both direct and grassroots lobbying. No more than 5 percent of the Fund's time and no more than 2 percent of its revenues in any given year are expected to be devoted to this activity. The activity furthers the Fund's exempt purposes because all such activity is expected to relate to protecting existing access and expanding access to reproductive health care for all persons in need.
