600 Million Stray Dogs Need You
Public records show a registered, tax-exempt organization in good standing.
What it says it does
To end the #1 cause of suffering and death for dogs and cats globally, by developing food that will spay and neuter them, without surgery and end the overpopulation problem without killing. Humane education; fighting to prevent the suffering of children and all animals.

- $407,478 spent. Science Overview for 2025 and the Global Problem We Seek to Solve1) It is believed by many that the global crisis of homeless companion animal overpopulation, the number one cause of suffering for dogs and cats, increased throughout 2025 as their primary source of food increased: human garbage. Millions of homeless dogs and cats continued to suffer as the cycle of reproduction of the homeless by the homeless repeated generation after generation. To end this suffering, our mission remained science-driven and unprecedented: to end the Number One cause of *continued on Sch O *continued from page 2* suffering and premature death for dogs and cats worldwide -overpopulation - by advancing the development of what will become the first one-dose, edible, permanent-lasting birth control formula capable of safely sterilizing stray dogs and cats without surgery.Recognizing that traditional spay and neuter surgery alone cannot solve this problem worldwide, we continued advancing the development of the Spay and Neuter Cookie as a cruelty-free, scalable, science-based, effective alternative. Building upon prior progress, we continued testing chemicals to produce lifelong sterilization from a single cookie, while our small dedicated team continued advancing this groundbreaking and complex scientific work, despite serious constraints ranging from threats and harassment to insufficient resources and funding. 2) In 2025, we were compelled to spend a substantial amount of effort improving the crucial analysis of 'the follicle count'. Before delving into these specifics, it is important to understand why the follicle count is so important. In short, the follicle count tells us whether our birth-control formula is actually working. Follicles are located in the ovaries, and once a follicle dies (usually with advancing age), it cannot be replaced, and without enough follicles, reproduction cannot take place. This natural condition in humans is referred to as menopause. As our goal is to develop a single-dose, permanent, lasting birth control treatment for dogs and cats, the most important question is: Did our formula permanently shut down the ovary's ability to produce future eggs? The follicle count helps answer that question. Before the follicle count: Researchers often had to rely on indirect clues: Did the animal become pregnant? Or did hormone levels change? Any number of questions. The problem is that these clues can be misleading. The follicle count gives us a more direct answer. By carefully examining treated ovarian tissues and analyzing their follicles, we can determine: How many follicles remain. What types of follicles remain? Whether the treatment damaged only some follicles or nearly all of them, and so on.Why this matters: We are not trying to create a birth control method that works for a few months. We are working to develop something far more ambitious: A safe, inexpensive, edible, one-dose treatment that permanently prevents reproduction - without the need for capture, injections or surgery. To prove that such a treatment truly works, we need evidence that the formula has eliminated, or sufficiently depleted, the viable ovarian reserve. The follicle count is one of the strongest ways to demonstrate that. A robust follicle-count method can help answer questions from: Scientific reviewers, Grant agencies, Regulatory authorities, Veterinary experts, and Potential partners. It provides objective evidence rather than relying on assumptionsIn short: The follicle count is important because it allows us to directly measure whether our one-dose formula has permanently disabled the ovary's capacity to produce fertile eggs that are necessary for becoming pregnant - the central requirement for ending the uncontrolled reproduction in stray dogs and cats.3) Analyzing the Follicle: Our Attempts to Automate Pathology Reporting with Artificial Intelligence. In 2025 we invested significant time in attempting to automate our pathology reporting using AI, hoping to speed up the expensive, labor-intensive work of evaluating follicles digital slide by digital slide. Unfortunately, this effort was not successful. AI-based classification and analysis is simply not good enough yet to meet our needs. Unfortunately it does not yet meet the level of accuracy that our work demands. In short, the variability and subtlety that we require, in follicle detection and staging, continued to exceed what current automated tools could/can reliably handle. While the experiments did not deliver the time savings we had hoped for, they clarified where automation can and cannot yet be trusted, and it reinforced why our rigorous, human-led pathology, and tools like our follicle quiz, remain essential. 4) To deal with this important problem, we developed the follicle quiz pipeline - the follicle quiz for short. Much effort had to be invested in developing the follicle quiz. The need for it grew directly out of a problem we kept running into: we observed real variability and differences in follicle detection and classification - across different veterinary pathologists, and there was no easy way to understand or quantify or localize where those disagreements were coming from or what they were based on. As the accuracy of each formula depends on how reliably follicles are counted and staged, this kind of variation is not something we could, nor can, afford to leave unresolved. Static annotations and side discussions were and are, not enough. We needed a way to directly visualize and compare how different pathologists were interpreting the same raw material: treated follicles. This is why we had to build a structured comparison tool ourselves.Although the result appears to be a single, rather simple yet highly structured product, in the form of an online platform, getting there required a deeply involved process, requiring several structured, interconnected steps. We first evaluated annotation software such as ImageScope and QuPath, and after
