What it says it does

Jamyang Foundation is an innovative project to help educate girls and young women in developing countries. The project began in 1987 with study programs that combine traditional and contemporary learning. Jamyang Foundation currently supports 390 students in twelve study programs in the India Himalayas, including nine in Zangskar, one in Spiti Valley, and one in Kinnaur. Jamyang Foundation also founded and supports Visakha Girls School. This is a primary school primarily for Marma tribal girls in the area of Manikchari in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. Two of our pioneering projects in Dharamsala are now operating independently. They are educating more than 200 students and thus fulfilling the Foundation goal of fostering self sufficiency.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.
