  1. $73,556 spent. In 2025, Friends of Cape Town Chabad House Inc. experienced remarkable growth, serving as a vibrant, welcoming hub for the 1,000 Hebrew-speaking Jews in Cape Town. We hosted weekly Torah study groups for men and women, fostering spiritual growth and community connection. Our Shabbat meals brought together families, individuals, and those in need, providing warm, inclusive experiences for those unable to host their own. Our children's programs, held throughout the week and especially before Jewish holidays, offered hands-on, engaging educational experiences. These events attracted 20-30 children each, blending creativity, holiday crafts, and Jewish values in a fun, dynamic atmosphere. Highlights of the year included: A joyous Purim celebration with over 150 attendees. A beautiful community Passover Seder, uniting 120 participants in a festive, family-like setting. Meaningful holiday celebrations for Rosh Hashanah, Chanukah, Shavuot, and more, each fostering community spirit and Jewish pride. Weekly men's gatherings every Tuesday, drawing 20-30 participants, and women's circles every Monday, focusing on creativity, motherhood, and spiritual growth. Additionally, we provided essential support to Jewish travelers visiting Cape Town. The Chabad House served as a lifeline, offering kosher meals, Shabbat experiences, and assistance during medical emergencies or accidents. We were a compassionate presence, ensuring no Jew felt alone, even far from home.
