Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $203,510 spent. In 2024, The Golden S.E.E.D.S. Foundation celebrated the completion and closing of seven newly constructed affordable homes. To support these new homeowners and other community members on their journey, we coupled the housing initiative with our Mastering the Move educational learning series. The first cohort included 20 participants who engaged in weekly, interactive learning sessions covering essential topics such as financial preparedness, home maintenance, mortgage management, property taxes, insurance, estate planning, and community engagement. Participants not only received invaluable education impacting both their homebuying and homeownership experience but were also gifted customized new homeowner tool packages, which included: * A 6-foot ladder * HVAC filters tailored to each participant's home unit * A complete starter toolkit containing essential tools for minor household repairs These practical resources reinforced the program's mission to prepare new homeowners to confidently manage and maintain their homes. Mastering the Move has had a measurable impact-helping families transition from renters to informed, empowered homeowners who can sustain their investments and strengthen the fabric of their community. The Golden S.E.E.D.S. Foundation looks forward to continuing and expanding this initiative in the coming year, offering additional sessions each season and increasing outreach to support more first-time homeowners in Dallas and surrounding communities.
  2. $600,122 spent. Affordable housing refers to housing units that are affordable to those with a median household income or below, ensuring that residents do not spend more than 30% of their gross income on housing costs, including rent or mortgage payments and utilities. The primary goal of affordable housing projects is to prevent individuals and families from becoming cost-burdened, which can lead to financial instability and homelessness.
