Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $57,115 spent. Endangered Species International protected 241 endangered species and helped restored and protected over 1,000 hectares of rainforest. Rainforest Habitat Restoration and Community Partnership: During the fiscal year, the organization successfully restored 66 hectares of critical tropical rainforest habitat within the Mt. Matutum Protected Landscape. Working in direct collaboration with local indigenous communities, including the B'laan Tribe, the organization cultivated and planted 101 native tree species. This specific initiative brought the organization's cumulative total to over 500,000 native tropical trees planted in protected areas. The program directly protected habitats for endangered endemic species while providing sustainable conservation management training to local community partners.
  2. $20,000 spent. During the fiscal year, the organization successfully advanced its marine conservation program across three critical protected sites within the Coral Triangle (Balabac Island, Negros Island, and Sarangani Bay). The organization protected and actively restored 20 hectares of coral reef habitat across a 6,000-square-kilometer ocean footprint, alongside an expansion into 308 hectares of adjacent mangrove ecosystems. Through active coral gardening, the removal of invasive species and plastics, and community-led protection, live coral coverage at the sites increased to 63% (up from a 37% baseline). This resulted in the recovery of 23 coral species, including 15 listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. To ensure sustainability, the organization empowered local coastal communities by mobilizing them for anti-poaching patrols, which successfully maintained a zero-incident rate for illegal and destructive fishing in the protected zones throughout the year. Furthermore, the organization conducted weekly marine awareness and experiential conservation camps, educating over 5,000 youth from local fishing communities. The initiative significantly enhanced overall marine biodiversity, increasing local fish populations to 150 documented species and providing critical, safe refuge for endangered marine life, including green sea turtles, hawksbill turtles, reef manta rays, and dugongs.
