Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $49,085 spent. Animal Rescue & Adoptions- (Locally- NY & NJ). We work in partnership with local, and out-of-state, animal shelters to reduce the number of unwanted cats, dogs, reptiles, and small mammals surrendered every year. Our approach involves transferring them into our care and putting them up for adoption. We also rescue and rehome animals surrendered by the general public. The majority of the animals we rescue are adopted inside PETCO and PETSMART stores, which is made possible through our adoption partnerships with PETCO LOVE and PETSMART CHARITIES. Our organization operates out of three 24-hour adoption centers in NYC. Over the past 12 months, we have successfully rescued, provided veterinary care, and found homes for over 450 cats, dogs, reptiles, and small mammals.
  2. $49,085 spent. Animal Rescue & Adoptions- Puerto Rico to NYC. We work partnership with several prominent animal rescue foundations and shelters in San Juan, Puerto Rico to rescue, provide veterinary care, and transport homeless cats and dogs from the island to NYC where we help them find permanent homes. Our organization was founded with the goal of rescuing animals in Puerto Rico, and it remains a central part of our mission. The Puerto Rican pet overpopulation crisis is a major concern, with over 100,000 dogs and cats purportedly born on the island every year. Sadly, many of these animals do not survive due to overcrowded shelters, euthanasia, disease, starvation, and many other perils. To help address this issue, we believe that government municipalities should allow organizations like the ASPCA and HSUS to help spay and neuter animals aggressively. Additionally, community and government support for animal welfare on the island would make a huge impact in ameliorating this problem. We are committed to continuing our work rescuing and rehoming dogs and cats from Puerto Rico until more progress on the island is made.
