Programs described in its return (3)
- $55,000 spent. Peer-Run Mental Health Services Continuum Project-In 2025, NCHQA continued a partnership with Promise Resource Network (PRN), a NC leader operating peer-operated mental health recovery alternatives, to continue growing service provision in Wake, Durham, Orange, Mecklenburg, and Cabarrus Counties. NCHQA supported PRNs expansion of operations, facilities, and programming in Wake and Cabarrus, including via the opening of a resource hub and recovery cafe in Wake County and the purchase of a future respite house in Cabarrus County. Additionally, NCHQA conducted research into expansion into Durham and Orange Counties. NCHQA also supported operational improvements at PRN, such that PRN is now better poised to continue growing the continuum of care offered to individuals experiencing mental and behavioral health challenges. Finally NCHQA began researching pathways for PRN to garner Medicaid funding.
- $1,500 spent. The Melanated Haven Business Development Project - In 2025, NCHQA supported business development efforts to create a respite-style facility for new mothers, especially mothers of color, in partnership with Melanated Bellies Birth Support (MB). MB will continue program development without NCHQA in 2026
- Rual Communities Opioid Response project-In rual northeastern North Carolina, NCHQA has partnered for several years with a consortium of healthcare providers, first responders, screening sites, local governments, and other local community leaders to address the serious epidemic of opioid and other substance use disorders. In 2025, NCHQA concluded involvement in these efforts. Grant funding no longer supported NCHQA involvement, and program operations were self-sustaining. All programming, partnerships, and operations that NCHQA helped to initiate in this region will continue.
