Programs described in its return (1)
- $452,073 spent. We provide instruction in acting, painting, music, and musical theater dance to approximately 300 children each year. We awarded more than $7,500 in scholarships to help ensure financial barriers did not prevent children from participating. Acting classes and lessons were offered six days a week. Throughout the year, our students performed more than 40 daytime musical performances for school field trips, with over 14,000 students attending to see children ages 3-18 perform live on stage. We also presented 15 evening and weekend performances that were open to the public and featured our young performers. To make the arts more accessible, we provided more than 1,000 free tickets annually to students and teachers from Title I schools. In addition, we presented two music recitals and two art shows, giving students opportunities to showcase their talents in a variety of artistic disciplines.
