Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $87 spent. Scholarships/Grants-Giving Gown Foundation awarded 9, $1,000 scholarships to female high school seniors in the greater Houston area that intended to enroll in a full time or part time bachelors/associates degree program, trade or workforce certificate program at a institution of higher education state accredited by a state or nationally accredited agency. The girls had to complete an application, submit recommendation letters and transcripts to be considered. We also awarded 6, $1,000 scholarships to girls that had previously been awarded a scholarship as a high school senior that were attending college. Those girls also had to complete an application. All scholarships were paid directly to the bursar/finance office of the colleges/universities that the winners were enrolled.
  2. $11,199 spent. Prom Boutique-Giving Gown provides prom gowns, shoes, accessories, meals, swag bags, and an empowerment workshop for our Prom Boutique attendees free of charge. While the girls may focus on their dress, we are focused on empowering them by showing grace and love for being themselves. Our purpose is an experience for the heart, and our girls walk away with more than a dress. Our prom boutique serves high school juniors and seniors from the greater Houston and surrounding areas. During 2024 we had approximately 800 attendees for our Boutique Week.
