Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $75,271 spent. summer camp--provided children and youth opportunity to experience the outdoors, grow in independence, learn social skills and broaden their faith in God. There were 17 separate camps available during mostly June and July, with a total of 306 camp attendees ages 5-18, plus some adults that attended Family Camp and Kiddie Camp with their 5-7 year olds. Fifteen seasonal summer staff were hired to run the program, provide supervision and safe environment for the campers, and maintain the property during this season. We have a scholarship fund and most of the Middle PA District Churches of the Brethren give a stipend for the children from their church that attend, making it possible for more people to experience the benefits of Camp.
  2. $90,981 spent. Property maintenance and rental--developed and provided a rental facility open to churches, schools, non-profit organizations, families and individuals to retreat for spiritual, educational, and physical development. Promoted environmental stewardship and creation care in all rentals, and worked to maintain buildings so that this ministry and environmental stewardship can continue long term.
  3. $33,173 spent. Outdoor School--In partnership with Penn State Shavers Creek Outdoor School program, provided space and property for environmental education and learning for area school fifth grade students to learn about local flora and fauna, and how to care for the environment. Also provided food, lodging, and property maintenance/upkeep for attendees. Hosted 4 weeks of Outdoor School in the spring semester and 6 weeks in the fall.
