Financial health
We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance
This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (3)
- $61,674 spent. The Slovak Ball - since 1993, S-ACC has organized annual Slovak Balls, and also used them as an opportunity to recognize and honor people of Slovak origin for their significant achievements. The event is an opportunity for the community to gather, dance, and celebrate achievements. The event is considered to be the signature event of the organization. The event takes 50 percent of the Board time to organize. This year we hosted 377 people and included Slovak food, music, dancing, and a guest musical performer flow in from Slovakia. This is always the highlight of our year and brings in Slovaks both from across the United States and from Slovakia.
- $1,750 spent. SACC awards competitive, application-based scholarships up to $1,000/recipient towards tuition at Summer Language Institute (SLI), run by University of Pittsburgh, to study Slovak language at SLI's accredited program. This year we awarded scholarships to Alesia Staskiewicz ($1000) and Emily Matta ($750).
- $3,802 spent. Webinars and in-person cultural events - the organization organizes at least 1-2 events per year that focus on the sciences and/or culture. The events are held in various locations in New York City (church venues, cultural centers, the Slovak Consulate, art galleries, etc.). This year we organized 4 events: a concert at the Lincoln Center featuring Slovak artists, a Slovak film premier and Q&A with the filmmaker Dr. Michaela Musilova, a science event interviewing 3 highly acclaimed Slovak students, and a concert featuring 2 Slovak musical artists. These events hosted an estimated 210 people.
