Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $153,157 spent. In an effort to accomplish our goals of protecting the vital forests, watersheds, rivers and public spaces of South Carolinas Blue Ridge mountains we work with conservation partners across the state. This fiscal year we acquired additional properties, for which we will either become the long-term stewards and managers of the property, or subject to a conservation easement. When appropriate, the property may be donated to a state or federal agency like SC State Parks, SC Department of Natural Resources, or the Sumter National Forest.
  2. $119,343 spent. Purchase 365 acres across from Chestnut Ridge Heritage Preserve along Highway 11 in Greenville County which will become a new state park and will continue our preservation work along Scenic Highway 11.
  3. $63,852 spent. Purchase of 218 acres adjacent to the Greenville Watershed at Cedar Mountain in northern Greenville County. The property contains a granitic outcrop and a beautiful forest and a high hazard earthen dam that will be removed to preserve the natural waterflow and surrounding flora.
  4. $40,043 spent. Protection of 190 acres outside Travelers Rest and adjacent to Saluda Gorge property along the North Saluda River. The property protects a stunning forest, headwaters and a section of rapids on the river.
