Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $52,268 spent. THE CEDAR MILLS GUN CLUB BOARD AND ITS MEMBERS WORKED IN 2025 TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY BY VOLUNTEERING THEIR TIME TO RAISE FUNDS FOR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS. WE PROVIDED SPACE FOR THESE GROUPS TO HOLD EVENTS AND MADE THE RANGE AVAILABLE TO THEM WHENEVER NEEDED. OUR CLUB COLLABORATES WITH THE MCLEOD AND MEEKER COUNTY SHERRIFS DEPARTMENTS, AS WELL AS THE HUTCHINSON POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SERVE AS A VENUE FOR TRAINING AND MEETINGS. ADDITIONALLY, LOCAL CONSERVATION OFFICERS FROM THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES CONDUCTED REGIONAL FIREARM SAFETY TRAINING FOR YOUTH AT OUR CLUBHOUSE AND GROUNDS. THE CLUB GENEROUSLY DONATED TO VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING THE MCLEOD CHAPTER RELAY FOR LIFE TEAMS, HUTCHINSON FFA, THE DEER HUNTERS ASSOCIATION, THE MCLEOD AND MEEKER 4-H EXTENSIONS, AND LOCAL 4-H CLUBS. WE ALSO HOSTED SEVERAL BENEFIT EVENTS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN HUTCHINSON AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS. FUNDS TO SUPPORT THESE INITIATIVES WERE RAISED THROUGH OUR PANCAKE BRUNCHES HELD ON THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH. WE ALSO ORGANIZED A FAMILY FUN DAY IN JANUARY FEATURING BINGO, DOOR PRIZES, AND A FREE OPPORTUNITY FOR KIDS TO BUILD WOOD DUCK HOUSES FOR THEIR PROPERTIES. ANOTHER NOTABLE EVENT IS OUR CHICKEN AND RIB NIGHT IN FEBRUARY WHERE MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS WERE PROVIDED A MEAL AND RAFFLE PRIZES. THE ANNUAL FISH FRY IS THE LARGEST EVENT TAKING PLACE ON THE LAST FRIDAY IN MARCH. THIS YEAR, WE SERVED OVER 1,500 PEOPLE THANKS TO THE EFFORTS OF OUR MEMBERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE CLUB ALSO PROVIDES FACILITIES FOR DNR SPONSORED YOUTH FIREARM SAFETY COURSES, WHICH ARE HELD TWICE A YEAR. SEVERAL CLUB MEMBERS AND OTHER DNR CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS VOLUNTEER THEIR TIME TO HOST THESE COURSES. THIS VOLUNTEER WORK IS GREATLY APPRECIATED BY STUDENTS, PARENTS, GUARDIANS, THE CLUB, AND THE DNR. WITHOUT THIS PROGRAM, YOUTH WOULD NOT RECEIVE PROPER TRAINING AND FIREARM CERTIFICATION, THEREBY MISSING OUT ON THE HUNTING TRADITION. ADDITIONALLY, THE CEDAR MILLS GUN CLUB SERVES AS A MEETING PLACE FOR THE CEDAR MILLS TOWNSHIP AND OTHER GROUPS AS NEEDED. WE SUPPORT RIDGEWATER COLLEGE AND HUTCHINSON CHARTER SCHOOL SHOOTING SPORTS AND ARE DISCUSSING PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE SPACE FOR THEIR TRAP TEAMS TO PRACTICE. IN 2025 THE CEDAR MILLS GUN CLUB DONATED CLAYS AND MEMBERSHIPS TO YOUTH FROM AREA SCHOOLS ALLOWING THEM TO PRACTICE ON OUR GROUNDS. THE CLUBS MONTHLY MEETINGS AND OTHER COMMUNITY EVENTS ARE HELD IN THE CLUBHOUSE. IMPROVEMENTS WERE MADE IN 2025 AS WELL. THE BOARD FOCUSED ON ENHANCING THE ACCESSIBLE PARKING AREA TO IMPROVE ACCESS FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES, ENSURING THEY COULD PARK IN FRONT OF THE CLUBHOUSE AND HAVE A SOLID CEMENT SURFACE TO EXIT THEIR VEHICLES. WE REVAMPED THE 50-YARD BENCH AREA, CREATING A NEW SHOOTING SPACE THAT IMPROVES ACCESS TO THE BACKSTOP AND TARGET AREA WHILE SEPARATING IT FROM THE LONG-GUN RANGE. WE ALSO UPGRADED ALL OF OUR RIFLE RANGE BENCHES, ADDING CEMENT AND CONSTRUCTING STURDY PLATFORMS FOR TARGET PRACTICE AND SHOOTING. THE BOARD CONDUCTS REGUALR MAINTENANCE TO ENHANCE THE GROUNDS WITH NEW BACKSTOPS AND NECESSARY REPAIRS.
