Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $5.2 million spent. AT ANY GIVEN TIME,APPROXIMATELY 140 CATS AND 190 DOGSARE RECEIVING CARE AT AAWL SAVING UPWARDS OF 4,000 ANIMALS EVERY YEAR. THE HEART OF OUR ADOPTIONS PROGRAM IS BUILT ON STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH A NETWORK OF RURAL AND URBAN SHELTERS ACROSS ARIZONA. WE'VE BUILT STRONG, LASTING RELATIONSHIPS WITH ALL OUR RESCUE PARTNERS AND RECOGNIZE THE UNIQUE CHALLENGES EACH OF THEM FACE, FROM LIMITED CAPACITY TO A LACK OF RESOURCES FOR COMPLEX MEDICAL OR BEHAVIORAL CARE. OUR IN-HOUSE VETERINARY TEAM ENSURES EACH DOG AND CAT RECEIVES ROUTINE MEDICAL CARE, AND AS NEEDED, SPECIALIZED SURGERIES, TO IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE. OUR BEHAVIOR TEAM ASSESSES EACH ANIMAL AND DEVELOPS A PERSONALIZED BEHAVIOR CARE PLAN, IF NEEDED. THIS HELPS THE ANIMAL OVERCOME ANY UNDESIRABLE BEHAVIORS BEFORE ADOPTION, INCREASING THE SUCCESS OF FINDING A FOREVER FAMILY.
  2. $386,635 spent. THE AAWL COMMUNITY VETERINARY CLINIC PROVIDES AFFORDABLE VETERINARY CARE TO PET OWNERS WHO MAY NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD VACCINES AND WELLNESS CARE FOR THEIR PETS. OUR CLINIC OFFERS LOW-COST VACCINES, NAIL TRIMS, FLEA/TICK/HEARTWORM PREVENTATIVES, AND OTHER WELLNESS CARE. BY SUPPORTING FAMILIES WITH ACCESSIBLE AND AFFORDABLE CARE, WE HELP PREVENT PETS FROM ENTERING THE STRESSFUL SHELTER SYSTEM AND ENSURE THEY REMAIN IN LOVING HOMES WHERE THEY BELONG.
  3. $314,834 spent. WHILE THE ARIZONA ANIMAL WELFARE LEAGUE'S ROOTS ARE IN ANIMAL RESCUE AND ADOPTION, WE'VE EVOLVED INTO A COMMUNITY-CENTERED ORGANIZATION THAT FOCUSES ON SUPPORTING BOTH PETS AND THE FAMILIES WHO LOVE THEM. WE BELIEVE THAT NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP A BELOVED PET SIMPLY BECAUSE OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS, WE'VE WORKED CLOSELY WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO CO-CREATE PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE AFFORDABLE VET CARE, BEHAVIOR TRAINING AND SUPPORT, AND ADDITIONAL PET RESOURCES AND EDUCATION. WE'VE EXTENDED OUR SERVICES BEYOND OUR SHELTER WALLS, BRINGING VITAL CARE AND RESOURCES DIRECTLY TO NEIGHBORHOODS LIKE MARYVALE, WHERE THESE SERVICES ARE OFTEN DIFFICULT TO ACCESS.
