- $486,644 spent. RESEARCH - Support health research into the benefits of consuming wild blueberries. The outcome of this work is detailed in the 2024 year end WBANA Health Research Update. This work benefits all blueberry producers in both Maine and Canada, including the members of both organizations. In Maine the most recent USDA Agricultural Census recorded 512 wild blueberry farms in Maine.
- $41,944 spent. MARKETING - Maintained a promotional website wildblueberries.com that promotes the use of wild blueberries detailing the history of wild blueberries, their potential use, health benefits, recipies and information related to how and where they can be purchased. Work was conducted by industry volunteers to identify a new direction, that when complete, will allow WBANA to provide additional marketing support to the wild blueberry industry.
