Youth Development - Lakeland Hills Family YMCA is committed to helping young people reach their full potential by providing safe, supportive environments where they can learn, grow, and build confidence. Our Early Childhood Learning Center served approximately 115 children ages 2.5-5, providing high-quality early learning experiences that support social, emotional, and cognitive development. In partnership with local school districts, the YMCA provided afterschool childcare programs in Boonton Township and Denville, serving approximately 230 students. These programs offer safe, structured environments where youth receive academic support, build friendships, and stay physically active after school. Our eight-week outdoor Summer Camp welcomed more than 600 youth, offering opportunities for children to explore new activities, develop leadership skills, and build lasting friendships through safe and engaging experiences. During the winter months, youth participated in YMCA sports leagues including basketball and soccer, helping them stay active while developing teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence. Water safety remains a cornerstone of our youth programming. In 2025, more than 765 youth participated in YMCA swim lessons, gaining essential water safety skills and confidence in the water. Additionally, 95 participants took part in our lifeguard certification courses, and 58 adults participated in our adult swim lessons, further strengthening water safety awareness and skill development across our community. We also continued expanding our I-SWAP vocational training program, which provides individuals with diverse abilities opportunities to develop job skills, independence, and community connections. Throughout the year, the YMCA hosted family-focused events such as Healthy Kids Day and other community celebrations, bringing families together and encouraging healthy lifestyles.
- $3.4 million spent. HEALTHY LIVING - Lakeland Hills YMCA is committed to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families throughout our community. Members have access to a wide range of wellness opportunities including group exercise classes, personal training, stretch therapy, and regular health screenings such as blood pressure monitoring. Our YMCA also offers evidence-based programs designed to support individuals managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, cancer, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, and heart disease. These programs combine education, physical activity, and peer support to help participants improve their quality of life. Our Healthy Living programs provide members multiple opportunities to connect with healthcare professionals while staying active and learning educational but practical steps toward healthier living. We also continue to support older adults through our Active Aging programs, which focus on maintaining strength, mobility, and social engagement to promote healthy and independent living. Water safety remains a priority across all ages. Through partnerships and community outreach efforts, the YMCA continues to expand access to swim instruction and water safety education for youth and adults alike.
- $144,649 spent. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY - For more than a century, the Lakeland Hills YMCA has worked alongside community partners to respond to the most pressing needs of our neighbors. Through our Give a Kid the Y campaign, we raise funds each year to ensure individuals and families can access YMCA programs regardless of financial circumstances, helping remove barriers and strengthen our community. In 2025, over 2,000 individuals received financial assistance or discounts towards program and membership from LHYMCA totaling $233,621. In 2025, the YMCA hosted community service initiatives including coat drives, toy drives, sock drives, free flu shot clinics, and numerous blood donation drives, helping meet essential community needs. The Y continued to showcase our Community Art Gallery, displaying over 50 pieces of artwork each quarter from local artists and community art programs, creating opportunities for creativity and cultural engagement within the community. In partnership with schools, nonprofits, and organizations serving individuals with disabilities, the YMCA continues to provide access to water safety programs, wellness activities, and inclusive recreational opportunities. Together with our staff, volunteers, and community partners, Lakeland Hills YMCA delivered more than 28 community events both at the YMCA and throughout the surrounding communities. Through these efforts, our Y continues its mission of strengthening communities and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
