Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $36,569 spent. The Resource Center operates 3 days per week at our corporate office in Rocky Mount, Virginia, and is open to the public and staffed by volunteers knowledgable in health and natural healing. Available are a variety of health and wellness materials, books, magazines, and cookbooks highlighting whole food plant-based recipes and information for improving one's nutrition and lifestyle. Also available are bulk whole foods and hard to find items for those seeking to transition to a more natural plant based lifestyle. Staff conservatively estimate they average four serious interests per day (about 12 persons per week) seeking help to improve their health or that of a family member or friend. They are so appreciative that we take the time to engage with them to answer their questions and steer them to solutions. Since Covid, the Center has only been open three days per week. Community interest has grown and we have branched out to offer whole food plant-based lunches to allow more folks to taste and see how good and how easy making a change in diet can be. A plant-based chef is under contract to prepare the hot lunches in our commercial kitchen where we also conduct plant-based cooking schools and prepare meals for the Dinner with the Doctor programs, etc. This part time endeavor has been well-received in the community and we are finding new patrons interested in learning how to take better care of their health.
  2. $8,913 spent. Lifestyle Health Education programs were also conducted at the home office of the corporation in Virginia for the public with minimal fees to clients. These programs were attended by 57 persons and were conducted by volunteer medical professionals and lay volunteers throughout the year. A Dinner with the Doctor presentation by a local physician about Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease, How to Boost Your Brain Health was much appreciated and the patrons enjoyed a whole foods plant-based meal as well as an encouraging talk on an issue facing many of us today. Another Dinner with the Doctor presentation along with a plant-based meal was on the topic Origins of and Solutions for Arthritis which was of very great interest to the attendees. Another physician presentation was on the topic Living a Great Life highlighting the implementation of a simple lifestyle with whole food plant-based nutrition and simple natural remedies and fresh air, good rest, sunshine, daily exercise, water, temperance in all good things and abstinence from all harmful things, and trust in divine power for good emotional and mental health. None of our guest physician lecturers received any remuneration and fees were charged only if the attendee chose to eat the meal. Volunteers are always available at the Center's home office on days it is open to assist clients with health questions or needs and provide printed health education materials as well as plant-based recipes to aid clients in improving their health.
  3. One of our volunteer licensed medical doctors is qualified to train not only lay persons but also other licensed medical professionals to use lifestyle education in their medical practice. Lifestyle Medicine is needed more and more to meet the needs of the public who are unknowingly contributing to their own disease processes by their poor lifestyles. We are blessed to have this physician as part of our team but he has moved to another state to practice and to train medical professionals in Lifestyle Medicine, so we are sad to lose him. As other areas learn about Health Immersions, they are requesting help to implement the program in their communities so our Mobile Team has traveled to a new location in South Carolina to train a group of laymen and medical professionals who desire to begin conducting such programs in their community. This effort was sponsored by another non-profit so no corporate funds were expended in the endeavor. The presentation was well received and the South Carolina group began laying plans for their first intervention in May of 2026, with some help from our Mobile Team at that time.
