Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $492,336 spent. In 2024, MANTA realized its long term goal of acquiring their own sail catamaran for traing and research programs. This 1962 vessel was repaired and customized to support our summer student activities and equipped for long range range cruising and operations. WE conducted our summer student field studies courses in coral reefs and scientific diving from June to July, hosting high school and college students from all over the country and one graduate student from Germany. We conducted numerous reef health surveys, including fish diversity and abundance, coral abundance, diversity, and demographics and coral disease incidence. We also hosted a month and a half of adult eco cruises, and utilized the vessel for important outreach. We are excited to build on this vessels potential in 2025.
