Programs described in its return (4)
- $128,836 spent. Lifeline Urgent Care Many families of the underserved communities have pets that need urgent veterinary attention and would be forced to allow their pet to suffer or be euthanized without this program. Over the last few years, we paid for numerous amounts of dental extractions, knee surgeries, leg surgeries, whole body infections, eye removals, and skin issues. For the Love of Cats is the only rescue organization in Collier County offering this invaluable program that also covers wellness exams for senior cats and cats with non-emergency illnesses from low-income families. To date, we have saved the lives of over 800 cats. We treated 83 cats in 2025.
- $127,653 spent. Public Outreach- Our Public Outreach Program is to educate and inform the members of the community about For the Love of Cats and the issues and complications that community cat overpopulation can present throughout Collier County. Our Outreach Program includes Farmers Markets, Tabling Events, In-store Events and other public promotional platforms that allow us to speak directly to the public about the county ordinances, policies and actions surrounding community cat management as well as educating the public about our programs and solutions we have available to the community. Our Community Cat care program distributed 6,100 pounds of food to feed community cats who have no other reliable source of nourishment. For many of these cats, this support is not supplemental, it is essential to their survival. Our Senior for Seniors program placed 6 cats over 7 years of age with senior citizens over the age of 60 with not cost to the adopter. Having a cat increases the seniors' activities, social interaction and is beneficial to their overall health. Our program includes cats from Domestic Animal Services as well as cats from ALL other rescues in Collier County.
- $100,184 spent. TNR Cats & RescueTNR is one of For the Love of Cats primary directives. The community issues of cat overpopulation cannot be achieved through the adoption process. It must be accomplished through sterilization of the existing community cat population. This is a comprehensive and successful approach that has been proven to be effective throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. In addition to sterilization, cats are vaccinated and under the daily feeding and care of volunteer caregivers. For the Love of Cats works with Domestic Animal Services in Collier County to adhere to the TNR ordinance currently in place. To date, For the Love of Cats has supported over 2,800 TNR cats. Volunteer caregivers feed and care for many cats throughout Collier County every day. In 2025, For the Love of Cats TNRd over 683 stray, feral and community cats a 34% increase from 2024.
- $20,254 spent. Low Income Spay/Neuter AssistedOur Low Income Spay/Neuter program pays for sterilization surgery and rabies vaccinations for cats and kittens owned by the underserved families of Collier County. These cats and kittens would otherwise be abandoned without this service. These abandoned pets then adversely contribute to the already overwhelming free roaming community cat population throughout the county. Although Collier County has a program for outdoor community cats, many low-income families need help with education, guidance and resources for basic spay/neuter. To date, For the Love of Cats has helped over 730 families with spay/neuter assistance. In 2025, this program assisted 62 pets.
