Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $1.8 million spent. Restoration: In 2025, Rock Creek Conservancy strengthened its leadership in people-powered urban forest restoration while advancing landscape-scale resilience efforts. Restoration expanded across seven mini-oases and three pilot forest resilience sites totaling more than 170 acres, in partnership with the National Park Service to address invasive plants, climate stress, and forest decline. In Montgomery County, the Conservancy continued its forest restoration work with the continued efforts of the Rock Creek Conservation Corps. Continued on Schedule O.
  2. $301,950 spent. Environmental Stewardship: Over 1,000 volunteers turned out for annual Conservancy events such as the Extreme Cleanup and the Weed Wrangle, to clean up litter and remove invasive plants from sites across the watershed in DC and Montgomery County. The Conservancy hosted 255 volunteer events and 21 leadership trainings, providing over 4,600 community stewards the opportunity to clear trash, monitor water quality, and remove invasive plants that are smothering native trees and plants that give food and refuge to wildlife. Through the Rock Creek Conservation Corps program, the Conservancy engaged over 500 students and provided summer work experience for 17 students from schools in underserved communities in both DC and Montgomery County. Continued on Schedule O.
