Programs described in its return (3)
  1. Leadership SouthCoast fulfills its mission primarily through its signature program LEAD SouthCoast an exclusive 10-month immersive training initiative catering to aspiring community leaders. This distinctive program is a pivotal platform that delves into critical areas such as economic development public health arts & culture and more equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to address various community challenges effectively. The primary objective of LEAD SouthCoast is to empower a diverse cohort of 25-35 emerging leaders annually hailing from a wide array of organizations spanning the nonprofit private and public sectors to become catalysts for positive change within the region. The organizations commitment to fostering inclusive leadership and civic engagement is evident as it continues to graduate up to 30 individuals each year.
  2. Amid the challenges posed by the pandemic Leadership SouthCoast adapted and resumed operations in January 2022 reaffirming its dedication to nurturing a new generation of informed and proactive community advocates. In response to the evolving needs of its participants the organization introduced a Board Fellowship component in the 2024 cohort. This initiative aimed to cultivate a pipeline of leaders ready to assume board responsibilities effectively. While the Board Fellowship program demonstrated its value the organization chose to return to its core principle with the subsequent 2025 and 2026 cohorts emphasizing the holistic development of emerging leaders.
  3. Moreover Leadership SouthCoast expanded its impact by launching the College LEAD SoCo program targeting first-generation and BIPOC college students preparing them for successful transitions into prominent employment opportunities with major organizations. Although the program was temporarily paused for the 2025 session discussions are underway regarding the potential relaunch of the College LEAD SoCo initiative in upcoming sessions. Through these strategic initiatives and continuous adaptability Leadership SouthCoast remains steadfast in its commitment to nurturing a diverse cadre of leaders equipped to address the multifaceted challenges facing the region. A new Lead Well program is in the planning stages for a future launch.
