Governance
This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence
Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.
Programs described in its return (1)
- Odaiko Sonora provides cultural arts programming in the form of taiko, or Japanese ensemble drumming, to approximately 200,000 people a year through school programs, classes, workshops, performances, and more. Classes include students from ages 5 to 80 and focus on instilling a sense of community in addition to personal accomplishment many of these students then go on to form the Community Group, which is the core of the organization. Community Group members, along with the Performing Ensemble members and understudies, appear at a variety of cultural festivals in Southern Arizona, including Tucson Meet Yourself, Arizona Matsuri, and the All Souls Procession Performing Ensemble members and understudies also partner with other local organizations like the Tucson Children's Museum to provide additional programming. School programs and residencies occur both in Tucson through TUSD's Opening Minds Through the Arts and in rural communities in Cochise County. Odaiko Sonora also provides support for other cultural arts practitioners, both directly e.g., functioning as a fiscal sponsor for the Southern Arizona Japanese Cultural Coalition and mission-aligned projects and indirectly, through our owned studio building, Rhythm Industry Performance Factory RIPF. By operating RIPF as a cooperative artist-owned arts incubator space, we involve our renters in the care of the space and are able to set affordable prices for local arts practitioners who may not otherwise be able to practice loud or unusual art forms e.g., Japanese archery, Afro-Brazilian drumming, etc.
