Programs described in its return (1)
- $282,842 spent. 2023-24 Programs and Events: 18 - Author Visits: We introduce students to authors of the books they love. These luminaries include award-winning and New York Times bestselling authors. 4 - Read-a-Thons: Our mission is to motivate and inspire students to read through a variety of strategies and experiences designed specifically to align with and reinforce state language arts standards. The Organization focuses its services on high poverty Title I Schools. By giving students access to high quality books and fostering positive reading experiences, Page Turners seeks to broaden children's horizons, expand their knowledge and understanding of the world beyond their neighborhoods, and fuel their imaginations and aspirations. 1 - Community Event (Read Across Atlanta in partnership with Marta): We partner with Atlanta's major transit authority, MARTA, in a project called The Storybus. Each year, we take students from Title I Schools on a "trip into a story" by connecting the skill of reading to the wider world as we ride across the city of Atlanta. Our objective is to promote reading awareness and ignite a love of reading in students at an early age. 1 - Literary Conference: A pivotal event aims to foster a rich dialogue among educators from the southeast, focusing on best practices in reading education and engaging sessions with authors.
