Financial health
We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance
This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

- $24,285 spent. FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 6/30/26:Nearly all our attention at Sun Safety for Kids has been devoted to our UV&Me program over this past fiscal year. This successful skin cancer prevention program encourages medical students to establish a UV&Me chapter at their medical school that is officially recognized as a student-led organization by their medical school administration. Chapter members use our material in delivering a presentation to children, at their school or youth group, to educate and motivate them to practice sun protection. At this writing, there are 34 established chapters at medical schools across the United States and Canada, with an additional 23 that have submitted an application for official recognition at their med school. In order to encourage formation of even more chapters, we are offering a $250 reward to any chapter member who successfully influences a med student at another med school to start a new chapter. Recently, we developed two interactive databases that are stored at the online service, Smartsheet. One will track every chapters full roster of members. The other will record all of the presentation events that are conducted by the members. A database manager will be appointed at each chapter to accurately record membership and activities. At this time next year we expect to have a record of how many children have been impacted by all of the presentations. The membership data will allow us to provide a Letter of Distinction to participating medical students that they can use in their application for residency training. Accurate data will also be useful in submitting grant requests for financial support. We employ one part-time employee who serves as General Manager for Sun Safety for Kids and UV&Me. Dr. Ashley and the Manager meet at least once per week. In addition, they meet once per month via Zoom with our board of volunteer Medical Student Directors to manage and improve the program. Board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Vadim Lincoln, has joined me as Professional Co-Director of UVandMe. It is anticipated that he will succeed me at some time in the future.Throughout the year a few small gifts have been given to individuals who contributed services, such as technical assistance with database development, and to medical students who have served as Directors in the form of a T-shirt or Patagonia with the UV&Me logo. For the coming year the emphasis will be on program growth by establishing a UV&Me chapter at additional medical schools. More chapters will enable the skin cancer prevention message to be delivered to many more children in keeping with the core mission of Sun Safety for Kids.
