Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $29,038 spent. Diaper Bank - The Junior League of Rochester Diaper Bank addresses diaper need in Monroe County, as well as surrounding counties, by providing diapers and diapering supplies to partnership organizations and social workers. This is an all volunteer run operation. We collect diapers (including open packages and loose diapers), pull-ups, training pants, wipes, and diaper creams. We also collect monetary donations, which are used to purchase these supplies at deep discounts. During the 2024-2025 league year, the decision was made to hand the diaper bank off to another organization. This process started during the year but the transition was not effective until June 2025.
  2. $8,178 spent. Done-in-a-day (DIAD) Volunteer Opportunities for Members and Member Trainings - The DIADs program is designed to offer highly flexible, one-day volunteer opportunities that allow participants to make a meaningful impact without a long-term commitment. Unlike other programs that may require extensive planning and budgeting, DIADs are typically focused on quick, impactful service projects that can be completed in a single day. These activities are varied, often responding to immediate community needs, and allow volunteers to engage in a wide range of service areas. This makes DIADs one of our top three programs, standing out due to their adaptability and the immediate difference they make in our community.Member training is central to the mission of the Junior League. Throughout the 2024-2025 year Member Trainings were typically offered in conjunction with our monthly membership meetings. Trainings offered included topics such as how to use/interpret the Emotions Wheel, a panel on Women's leadership, and personal branding. Training was a key component of the meetings in September, January, February, and April.
