Programs described in its return (1)
- $16,560 spent. Expanded its Youth Violence Prevention & Creative Arts (YVPCA) team, which meets weekly to provide opportunities for youth and young adults ages 8 - 28 to engage in civic duties and positive activities centered around violence prevention with an emphasis on gun violence prevention through various means, with creative arts being a key component for messaging. The program has doubled in size, serving over two dozen youth who assist in serving the community in outreach and event performances. The organization has also begun the development of a Community Safety Plan as it relates to mitigating firearm violence in three of the municipalities it serves. With the help of other community stakeholders and leaders, it has solidified a Purpose Statement and Problem Statement for the Safety Plan, both of which have been presented to the Illinois Office of Firearm & Violence Prevention.
