Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $67,380 spent. 1. Water Advocacy and PolicyRivers Alliance worked to protect and improve Connecticuts water resources by participating in over 25 state legislative and regulatory processes. We submitted testimony, coordinated with local partners, and advised decision-makers on water policy issues including nature-based solutions, emerging contaminants, drought resilience, hydropower, and improving protections for our inland waters. These efforts directly contributed to stronger protections for drinking water sources and enhanced community engagement in protection of and planning for our water resources.2. Watershed Education and OutreachThrough workshops, webinars, community events, social media outreach, and newsletters, Rivers Alliance educated thousands of residents, stakeholders, and decision makers about water issues. We distributed informational materials, engaged with dozens of partner organizations, and maintained a robust online presence to raise awareness. Our work improved public understanding of water quality and the importance of watershed protection.3. Technical Assistance for Local Water LeadersWe provided direct support to dozens of local residents dealing with land-use changes, water utilities, and watershed groups. This included one-on-one consultation, data sharing, and expert guidance on permitting and regulatory process and compliance. Our assistance helped these local groups work for better outcomes for their local waters.
