Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $4,209 spent. CHARLOTTE LAND TRUST ("CLT") HAS HELPED CONSERVE HUNDREDS OF ACRES OF FARMLAND AND NATURAL AREAS IN CHARLOTTE, VERMONT, THROUGH ITS OWN EFFORTS AND PARTNERHIPS WITH THE VERMONT LAND TRUST AND OTHER CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS. THROUGHOUT THE LAST FISCAL YEAR, THE CHARLOTTE LAND TRUST CONTINUED TO WORK TO PROTECT THE BEST OF CHARLOTTE'S AGRICULTURAL LANDS, NATURAL AREAS AND SCENIC VIEWS. WE WERE ACTIVE WITH CONSERVATION EFFORTS FOR FOUR DIFFERENT PROJECTS, IN DIFFERENT STAGES OF THE CONSERVATION PROCESS. FOR A SMALL ALL VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION THAT'S A LOT OF PROJECTS BUT WE ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE A STRONG DEDICATED BOARD, PARTNERSHIPS WITH LARGER CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS AND, ESPECIALLY, THE SUPPORT OF OUR DONORS TO MAKE IT ALL POSSIBLE. PROJECTS THIS PAST YEAR INVOLVED FARMLAND, FORESTLAND, WILDLIFE HABITAT, WATERWAYS AND WETLANDS. WHILE FARM PROJECTS, WITH THEIR OPEN SPACES AND SCENIC VIEWS, TEND TO BE MORE NOTICEABLE FORESTED LAND IS ALSO A HIGH PRIORITY FOR CONSERVATION. OF PARTICULAR INTEREST ARE AREAS WHERE WE CAN CONSERVE LANDS ADJACENT TO OTHER PROTECTED AREAS. CONNECTIVITY STRENGTHENS FOREST BLOCKS, PROTECTS WATERWAYS AND ENHANCES WILDLIFE CORRIDORS AND HABITAT. OUR CONSERVATION WORK WAS ALSO SUPPLEMENTED BY OUR WORK THIS PAST YEAR ON PROJECTS ESSENTIAL TO THE STRENGTH AND LONGEVITY OF THE ORGANIZATION. DEVELOPMENT AND ADOPTION OF A NEW STRATEGIC PLAN WAS A PRIORITY PROJECT. THE NEW PLAN PROVIDES A FRAMEWORK FOR OUR CONSERVATION WORK AND ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.
