Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $7,757 spent. We are a chaplain ministry to seafarers at the Port of Everett, WA. We meet them on the ship, welcome them, bring free donuts, socks, toiletries, etc. We spend one or two hours on board, and provide moral, emotional, practical and spiritual encouragement. We meet one or two vessels per week.
  2. $10,309 spent. We assist a Guyana-based ministry of the same name and purpose. Directed by a Guyanese chaplain and supported by Guyanese churches and individuals. Port of Hope US helps with their finances and and literature. The ministry suffered the theft of it's motorcycle. A US donor bought new one.
  3. $2,138 spent. Port of Hope Ministries writes and prints literature that address seafarer needs. This year we began creating laminated prayer cards for seafarers. These pocket-sized cards are given out to encourage their spiritual and moral development. We also provide free Christian Bibles and New Testaments.
