Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $770,355 spent. MMRG reports increasing success in its events, volunteer engagement, community education, fundraising and conservation efforts. In 2024, MMRG continued an upward trend in individual giving to the organization, with double-digit percentage increases in funds raised for 6 consecutive years- bucking both state and national downward trends. In 2024, MMRG completed 5 land conservation projects for a total of 372 additional acres. The organization additionally hosted 30 events, engaging over 700 attendees and 77 volunteers.Despite this growth, MMRG is reporting year over year losses as reflected on its 990 statements. These are due to the structure and timing of the influx and outflow of expenses and grant awards related to active land acquisition projects, which span multiple financial years. Land project expenses are incurred and carried by the organization until project completion when grant awards are paid on a reimbursement basis. In 2024 our financial records reflect carrying costs on at least 5 significant active land projects which will not receive financial reimbursement until 2025. These projects were significant in size, including 2 purchases and 3 easements for a total of 556 combined acres.
