Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $87,256 spent. We continue to have a positive impact on the attitudes of youth about risk taking while driving. Highway safety efforts have been a primary focus of our agency since its inception in 1996. These efforts are supported by on-going funding from the state office of highway safety. Another primary focus area is substance misuse prevention and youth mental health and wellness. We continue to support the semiannual prescription drug take back days hosted by the Derry, NH police department. Our collaboration with Derry's Community Access media to create and share important health, wellness and safety messaging continues with a focus on improving the health and safety of youth within the greater Derry community by including youth voices. Surveying the community to gain insight into the public health and safety priorities for youth and families is on-going. Collaboration with and support for one of the 13 public health networks serving 10 communities in southern NH allows for expanded outreach to the populations we both serve. Supporting the Derry Cooperative School District (K-8) and Pinkerton Academy, a public/private school of over 3,200 students (grades 9-12), by offering programs and opportunities that educate, engage and empower youth has been a priority since CATS was founded in 1996 and continues to this day. The Community Alliance for Teen Safety has effectively served as a central hub connecting the various spokes of the community wheel. Outreach to the community and in-reach to CATS has been simultaneous and dynamic, establishing a prototype for looking at solving community issues going forward.
