Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $92,811 spent. Funded 1218 spay/neuter surgeries for pets owned by low-income residents of White County. Our program helps eliminate pet overpopulation in our county and assists those who could otherwise not afford the cost of surgery.
  2. $881 spent. Repaired air conditioning unit, paid insurance and registration for our 2012 cargo van which we use to transport dogs and cats to area low-cost spay/neuter clinics twice a month. We transport an average of 55 cats and six dogs each month, for those clients who do not have reliable transportation, or cannot meet the early morning drop off times at the clinics we use. These clinics are located 40-50 miles from Sparta.
  3. $198 spent. Paid annual fee for a PO Box and purchased blank checks from our bank. Our PO Box is our official address since we do not have a brick and mortar facility. Our program is managed by our spay/neuter assistance coordinator from her home office.
